KP police head, chief secretary removed

PESHAWAR: The federal government on Saturday removed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) inspector general of police (IGP) and chief secretary from their posts.

As per a notification issued by the Establishment Division, KP IGP Salahuddin Mehsud has been transferred as Azad Kashmir IGP while Muhammad Naeem Khan, the Azad Kashmir IGP, will take up the vacant KP police spot.

KP Chief Secretary Naveed Kamran Baloch has also been asked to report to the Establishment Division. He had been appointed chief secretary of the province by the caretaker government in 2018.

His vacant position has been given to Muhammad Saleem, a grade-21 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Services. Saleem, prior to the appointment, was already serving in the province.

Mathar Niaz Rana was appointed new chief secretary of Azad Kashmir instead of Grade-21 officer Khawaja Daud Ahmed, who has been appointed additional registrar of the Supreme Court for a period of three years on deputation.

Rana had been serving as the additional secretary of industries and production until now.
