KARACHI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on Friday said that various countries were intending their inclusion in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which has increased the importance of the project.
Talking to Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Deputy Assistant Secretary Henry Ensher and Consul General of the United States JoAnne Wagner in a meeting at the Governor House, Imran Ismail said that completion of the CPEC would eliminate unemployment and poverty not only from the country only but also the entire region.
The governor said that Prime Minister Imran Khan also wished to see the country economically stable and in this context the work on mega development projects was underway in full pace.
He said that Pakistan was an emerging economy and there were huge opportunities available for the investments.
Imran Ismail said that Pak-US bilateral relations were beneficial in the greater interest of the entire region, adding that collaborated investments would eliminate poverty and unemployment from the region.
Henry Ensher on the occasion said that Pakistan was emerging as a peaceful country and the US investors were also interested in investments in Sindh, particularly in Karachi.
Henry said that Pakistan due to its geographical location was very attractive for the investors.
