ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), in a high-level meeting on Thursday, reviewed the initial report of the Combined Investigation Team (CIT) constituted for an investigation into the fake bank accounts case.
The meeting chaired by NAB Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal also reviewed the progress of different cases. NAB also constituted different teams which will also visit Karachi to record statements on the basis of solid evidence.
According to a press release, the meeting discussed transferring of fake accounts case under 16-A from Banking Court Karachi to accountability court in Islamabad.
The NAB chairman directed officials to ensure full implementation of the Supreme Court’s (SC) judgment in the fake bank accounts case.
He said that NAB believes in taking the case to a logical conclusion in the most transparent manner on the basis of solid evidence.
Justice (r) Iqbal also asked the media to refrain from speculations regarding the fake bank accounts case.
The high-level meeting was attended by NAB prosecutor general, dg operations, NAB Rawalpindi DG and other senior officers.
It may be recalled that the NAB chairman had constituted a CIT, headed by NAB Rawalpindi DG in light of the SC judgement. The chairman had also decided to personally supervise CIT.
