PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan has announced that the provincial government would soon be launching a survey before finalising the next provincial budget so that it is in consonance with the people expectations.

In a message issued here on Thursday, the chief minister said that the provincial government would carry out an extensive exercise to find out and ascertain people’s needs, requirements and their expectations.

“The next budget would properly reflect what the people expect from the provincial government,” he said while adding that the next budget would protect the due share of the people through a just resource distribution formula and the implantation strategy through a well-directed road map.

The chief minister said that the provincial government had decided to set its priorities in view of the area’s background, peoples’ expectations and a need-driven approach.

It is a right step towards rectification of the flaws consistently committed in the past and resulted in the drain of resources,” CM Mahmood assured.

The survey is aimed at identifying the real issues of the people, systematic revitalisation of institutions, transparent governance and merit-based decision making for the public’s welfare as well as promoting a participatory approach in the whole resource distribution formula.

CM Mehmood assured that the next budget would truly reflect the aspirations of the people and appealed to the people belonging to all cross sections of society to contribute to the cause through their opinions on how to make the budget and the resource distribution formula transparent, need driven.

He said that the government would appreciate and look forward to suggestions on how to serve the people in a better way.
