ISLAMABAD: The federal government is planning to extend the jurisdiction of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) soon.
“We are planning to extend NAB and FIA jurisdiction to AJK,” official sources in Ministry of Kashmir Affairs said on Thursday.
To a question, the sources said that in a bid to promote domestic and international tourism in the country, the ministry has hired services of three international companies to identify new tourism sites in the region of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). GB has great potential in the tourism sector and the federal government is working on a comprehensive programme to project various scenic destinations in the areas, they added.
To another question, they said that the government would construct 200 kilometre-long tourism corridor in AJK on priority.
“Modern tourists resorts will be constructed at all tourists destinations, road access to Rama Lake and Ferry Meadow is also under consideration in GB,” they said and added that modern transport facilities would be started to all the tourist destinations in the AJK and GB.
To a question, they said that unprecedented development funds had been released by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for the uplift of AJK and GB.
