Five-member robber gang busted, stolen bike and arms recovered in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police on Thursday arrested a five-member robber gang, as well as recovering arms and a stolen bike.

A police spokesman said that in line with directives issued by of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Waqar Uddin Syed to curb crimes, SP Rural Muhammad Umer Khan constituted special teams under the supervision of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sihala Muhammad Essa Khan to ensure the arrest of those involved in various criminal activities.

A team including SHO Sihala Inspector Muhammad Bashir, ASIs Mohammad Sajjad, Qasim Zia and others busted a five-member robber gang and recovered two pistols and a stolen bike stolen from them.

The detainees who were identified as Ali, Aamir Ejaz, Sajid, Bilal Khan and Attaur Rehman during preliminary investigations confessed to their involvement in several criminal activities in the jurisdiction of Sihala police station and various area of Rawalpindi.

Further investigation was underway.
