Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mohammad Zubair on Wednesday termed Punjab minister Aleem Khan’s arrest a “positive step” and wondered how Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar will cope now.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) senior leader and Punjab Minister for Local Government Abdul Aleem Khan in Lahore as he appeared before the accountability court in a case pertaining to owning assets beyond known sources of income and an offshore company scandal.
It was later reported that Khan has resigned from his post.
Responding to Khan’s arrest on a private media outlet, the former Sindh governor said that Prime Minister Imran Khan now has a huge responsibility to “maintain the credibility of his politics”.
