KARACHI: Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister (CM) on Information, Law, and Anti-Corruption Establishment Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Tuesday said that the opinion of the Kashmiri people is of key importance for the final settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
In a statement issued here on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, Barrister Murtaza said that every Pakistani pays tribute to the unsheltered steadfastness and heroism of the people of Kashmir every year on February 5. “It is the day to reiterate our solidarity with the brave Kashmiri people,” he added.
He said that the people of Pakistan stand for the independence and fundamental rights of the people of Kashmir. “The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has always stood with Kashmir for its struggle for freedom and following the footsteps of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto also constantly highlighted the issue of Kashmir globally,” he added.
The CM’s advisor said that the right of independence cannot be snatched from anyone and that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people cannot be ignored.
He said that the international community should ensure the speedy and just resolution of Kashmir dispute in line with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people.
