PESHAWAR: Star West Indies all-rounder and former captain Darren Sammy landed in Pakistan on Monday to attend his Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar Zalmi’s kit and anthem launch ceremony.
Sammy, who landed in Islamabad, embarked on his journey to Peshawar to attend the ceremony.
Javed Afridi-owned franchised has planned the ceremony at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor House where team players, ambassadors as well as musicians, amongst other socialites, will be present.

Sammy, who was welcomed by Afridi himself at the Islamabad International Airport, also paid a visit to the Army Public School (APS) in Peshawar, which was attacked by Taliban gunmen in 2014.
“The presence of skipper @darensammy88 brought joy to the students of APS & there were smiles all around it. @PeshawarZalmi is proud to have such amazing fans & we always look for ways to return back the love,” Afridi said in his tweet.

Sammy has been a part of PSL since its inception and led the team to win the title in 2017. He has developed a huge fan following ever since amongst the audience.
