In a viral video on social media, an official of Punjab Elite Force is seen saluting the deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif in Lahore.
In the video, the vehicle of former premier can be seen arriving at Services Hospital for a medical checkup, when three Elite Force personnel came near the vehicle and one of them saluted Nawaz, which was out of habit or respect, one can’t tell.
After the video went viral, there were rumours circulating that the official was suspended by the Punjab government over the salute but Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhry rejected the reports.
“We are big-hearted people,” he said while replying to a journalist in Lahore.
