Journalist and host of the show Sar-e-Aam, Iqrarul Hassan was once again trolled by the Twitterati after he claimed to have read all the Sihah al-Sittah as well as 12 interpretation books related to Islamic religious text while he was only in the fourth grade.

For those who do not know, the Sihah al-Sittah are six books containing collections of hadith compiled by six Sunni Muslim scholars in the ninth century CE. The name Sihah al-Sittah translates to “The Authentic Six”.

The renowned anchor’s tweet was in response to a tweet by Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry over ending Hajj subsidy.

Iqrar ul Hassan supported the information minister’s stance and defended the government move. The anchor then went into an argument with a Twitter user who then asked Iqrar ul Hassan if he knows more than Religious Affairs Minister who had given a recommendation of giving 42000 subsidies.

The Sar-e-Aam host said, “I don’t claim to know more than him but I was in fourth class when I had read Sihah al-Sittah (The Authentic Six) and a dozen interpretation books, including Tanveer ul Maqbas, Tafseer e Takbeer, Tafseer e Dar Mansoor, Mafatih al Ghaib (Tafseer e Kabir), Rooh ul Bayan, Rooh ul Ma’ani and Tafseer Ibn-e-Kaseer.”

People were quick to notice the tall claim and started calling it a bluff. Soon the hashtag  چوتھی_جماعت# that means #fourthclass began trending on the micro-blogging social media platform.

Most people refused to believe that a fourth-grade student, who must be nine years old, could comprehend the rather difficult and complex text.

“I went on Mars for vacations in fourth grade,” one user tweeted in response.

Jokes were made

However, Iqrarul Hassan was no sport to the trolling and termed the whole episode politically motivated.

He concluded by calling the trolling a PML-N conspiracy.
