SUKKUR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah on Monday said that the party did not wish to dislodge the incumbent government.

He made the comments while talking to media in Sukkur.

In response to a question, he said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif would be granted a bail given that he is not well.

Nawaz was shifted to Lahore’s Services Hospital last week by the Punjab government on the advice of doctors.

“Pakistan’s wellbeing is with democracy. The country was destroyed due to a lack of democracy,” he said, while adding that the PPP wanted to change the current political system rather than dislodge the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government.
