One terminated, six suspended for refusing anti-polio drive duties

ABBOTTABAD: Abbottabad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Amir Afaq on Monday terminated one and suspended six other government employees who had refused anti-polio campaign duties.

The DC terminated the service of Lady Health Visitor (LHV) of Shaikhul Bandi Nasreen, while six others including three from District Health Officer (DHO) offices and three from District Population Welfare Offices (DPWO) were suspended for refusing anti-polio camping duties.

The three suspended employees from DHO office include Lady Health Supervisor (LHS) Sajida, Technician Amir, and Technician Muhammad Ali while the three suspended DPWO employees include Family Welfare Assistant (FWA) Iraf Iftikhar, FWA Rukhsana Zeb and FWA Farhat Jabeen.

DC Amir Afaq has also issued show cause notices to several other employees who were absent during the anti-polio drive duty and directed their heads of departments to take strict action for negating orders.
