Incarcerated Awami Workers Party (AWP) leader Baba Jan Hunzai, is reportedly being denied treatment as the family’s request for angioplasty was refused.
Jan wrote a letter to the provincial chief minister requesting access to a hospital in Islamabad so he can seek treatment. He has been complaining of chest pains.
Jan is serving a life imprisonment sentence in Ghakuch in Gilgit-Baltistan for “ransacking and vandalizing police property” during the Hunza riots in 2011 and has been in confinement for years.
