PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet on Sunday approved its first health policy for the province as well as tribal areas.
Provincial Health Minister Dr Hisham Inamullah Khan said that the policy had been finalised after passing through different phases. “Special attention would be paid on health’s primary and secondary facilities under the policy,” he said.
“We will try to avoid launching new projects,” he said.
He said that the government was going to introduce a new policy regarding transfers and postings soon and that 5,000 doctors had been registered since taking charge of the ministry.
The health minister said that surprise visits at the hospitals were part of the strategy.
