ISLAMABAD: A homeless woman and her toddler on Saturday were moved to the recently established shelter home established by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Sector I-11 of the Capital.
The woman who had been living in a park in the freezing cold weather since the last several days was provided aid after a citizen tweeted her situation.
Taking notice of the matter, PTI leader and member of National Assembly (MNA) Ali Awan directed the district administration to move the homeless woman and her child to the shelter home.
I was tagged in a post showing a homeless lady along with her daughter sleeping in a park after being divorced by her husband and disowned by her family. I have promised to move her to Panagah and instructed DC Islamabad to personally monitor her relocations. 1-2 pic.twitter.com/sS3Z5YdCG3

They were allocated a separate room, bedding and food immediately upon their arrival at the shelter.
It was pertinent to mention here that the woman was thrown on the street by her husband after he divorced her. She was then disowned by her family as per social standards, due to which she was forced to live on the streets and not eaten anything for at least four days.
