Won’t let anyone hinder journey of change: CM

–Buzdar welcomes Chinese investments in agriculture, housing sectors

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said on Saturday that serving the masses was the only agenda of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led provincial government.

“We won’t allow anyone to create obstacles in the journey of change,” he said in a statement issued here.

Buzdar said that change has been brought about as the projects meant for development and prosperity of the country will now move forward.

“The government has already taken measures for the welfare of commoners in a short span of time,” he said and added that Pakistan was moving forward to gain its lost glory under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He also accused the previous governments of squandering resources on the projects aimed at gaining publicity.

Separately, a 12-member delegation of the China Engineering Corporation and Henan D.R. Construction Group called on Buzdar at his office and showed interest in the agriculture and housing sectors.

The delegates said they were interested in investing to make barren land useful for agricultural purpose through modern technology and will also transfer the technology to Punjab for the construction of low-cost houses.

The officials of the China Engineering Corporation also briefed the CM on progress made on the 1,263MW power project in Jhang.

Speaking on the occasion, Buzdar said Pakistan and China were bonded in an everlasting friendship and the relationship between the two countries was enjoying a new dimension under the PTI government.

He said foreign investors had been given immense opportunities in Punjab and the government welcomed the interest of Chinese investors.

The delegates included China Engineering Corporation Chairman Zhang Chun, Vice President Mr Fang Yanshui, Henan D.R. Construction Group Chairman Huang Dao Yuan, Deputy Chairman Cheng Cunpan and others.

Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, Punjab Irrigation Minister Mohsin Leghari, Agriculture Minister Malik Nouman Ahmed Langrial, Housing Minister Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, the chief secretary, Planning and Development chairman and other officials concerned were also present on the occasion.
