ISLAMABAD: Former chairman of the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Dr Muhammad Amjad on Friday joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Prime Minister Imran Khan welcomed the former chairman of the party founded by ex-military ruler general (r) Pervez Musharraf. Dr Amjad had quit the APML in August last year after Musharraf had nominated him to the post in his stead in June, 2018.
According to a statement released by the APML at the time, Dr Amjad was expected to look after the former military leader’s legal issues after resigning from the post.
During the general elections last year, the former APML chairman backed out of the competition for NA-53 seat after meeting the premier.
He also withdrew APML’s Ashraf Shehzad Khan from the NA-54 seat race where he was competing against Asad Umar.
