LAHORE – Business tycoon and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bahria Town Malik Riaz, whose name was put on the Exit Control List (ECL) in light of a report by the joint investigation team (JIT) probing the money laundering case, has erected a replica of the ECL in Bahria Town Lahore.

Following the inauguration of the 10 feet long and 6 feet wide monument representing the ECL constructed near the Eiffel Tower replica, Riaz also confirmed that a replica of the JIT that probed him will also be erected nearby.

Riaz, who is among the suspects in the fake bank accounts and money laundering case which has been referred to the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Rawalpindi office on the Supreme Court’s (SC) orders, has also announced separate replicas for NAB and SC to be completed following his return to Pakistan.

“They said that until his name is cleared in numerous corruption cases Malik saab has been placed on the no-fly list and he will not be allowed to leave the country,” said a spokesperson of Riaz while talking to The Dependent on the phone.

“So he thought why not declare Bahria Town a separate sovereign co…” he continued as the line dropped.

At press time, Malik Riaz was asking fellow passenger in flight to move his elbow to his own side lest he wanted a monument of it erected in Bahria Town Lahore.
