India martyrs two Kashmiris in fresh spate of violence

SRINAGAR:  After killing more than six Kashmiris in the month of January, Indian force in the occupied Kashmir have marked the start of February with more killings.

In its latest spate of violence, the Indian troops killed two more Kashmir during a search operation in Pulwama district of the occupied region, reported Kashmir Media Service.

“The youth identified as Shahid Ahmad Baba and Inayat Ahmad were killed by troops during a cordon and search operation in the Baba Mohalla of Drabgam village in the district,” said the report.

“The troops also razed a residential house to rubble on the occasion,” it added.

Following the killings, the youth took to the streets to hold a protest against the operation. The troops, however, used force and tear gas to quell the protest, resulting in intense clashes between the protesters and the forces.

Meanwhile, the occupation authorities suspended mobile internet service in Pulwama and neighbouring Shopian district.

Last month, India killed two Kashmiri youth in the Khonmoh area of Srinagar as the occupied region marked India’s Republic Day as “black day”. In another incident, Indian troops had also martyred three Kashmiris in Shopian district of the region.

18 KASHMIRIS MARTYRED IN JANUARY:

Indian troops have martyred 18 Kashmiris during the month of January in the occupied Kashmir, according to a report published by Kashmir Media Service.

The report, while citing data issued by the research section, stated that the killings left two women widowed and two children orphaned.

“As many as 126 people were injured due to the use of brute force and firing of bullets, pellets and teargas shells by the Indian troops and police personnel against mourners and peaceful protesters while 93 civilians including Hurriyat leaders and activists were arrested during the month,” the report added.

Moreover, the Indian troops also destroyed four residential houses in January 2019.

375 MARTYRED IN 2018: 

In 2018, Indian troops had martyred 375 innocent Kashmiris, including 10 women and 35 young boys.

The martyrs included highly qualified youth like Professor Dr Muhammad Rafi Butt, Dr Manan Bashir Wani, Dr Sabzar Ahmad Sofi, Dr Aijazud Din Khan and Dr Abdul Ahad Ganai.

The killed also included Hurriyet leaders, namely, Mir Hafizulla, Tariq Ahmad Ganie, Mohammad Yousuf Nadeem and Hakim-ul-Rehman Sultani. Of the martyrs, 21 were killed in custody.

The killings rendered 34 women widowed and 78 children orphaned while 75 women were molested by the men in uniform. Indian forces destroyed 605 residential houses during the period. Also, the vision of 1302 people was affected by pellets fired by the troops on peaceful protesters.

According to a report quoting data issued by the Kashmir Media Service, Indian troops had conducted 2,939 cordon and search operations across the territory during the year.

The report had said resistance leaders, including Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Syeda Aasiya Andrabi, continued to remain in detention in Delhi’s Tihar jail in fake cases.

Over 500 people, including Hurriyat leaders, remained in different jails of occupied valley and India under black law, Public Safety Act.
