NAB prosecutors tender resignation to ‘blackmail’ chairman

KARACHI: With the aim of ‘blackmailing’ the higher authorities of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the prosecutors who are assigned to defend the corruption cases in the courts on behalf of the corruption watchdog, have tendered their resignation, Pakistan Today has learnt reliably.

With the resignation of all six prosecutors of the Karachi region, the NAB cases which are in the courts of law will suffer a lot, including major cases of money-laundering, Dr Asim corruption cases, Sharjeel Inam Memon, Hussain Lawai and many others.

It is also mentioned here that the apex court had also objected to the poor performance of the NAB prosecutors who failed to get fruitful judgments after defending corruption cases in the courts.

The prosecutors who have resigned from Karachi region are Razique Dino Kalhoro, Kailash Ashok Vaswani, Zahid Hussain Baladi, Niaz Hussain Mirani, Khalid Mehmood Awan and Humayun Hanif.

In their collective resignation addressed to the NAB prosecutor general, the prosecutors stated, “We NAB prosecutors hereby tender our resignation collectively to be treated as with immediate effect. As we served the bureau/state for a long tenure and have decided to discontinue our duties and responsibilities on the same terms and conditions of extension. Further, we intend to peruse our career and to enhance our professional standing. We have no regrets and thankful to the bureau for providing us such a great opportunity.”
