ISLAMABAD: The legal fraternity of Islamabad Bar Association (IBA) on Wednesday called off their strike after almost forty days and appeared before the courts in F-8 Katchery after a successful meeting with the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Athar Minallah who visited the IBA on Tuesday afternoon.

The IHC chief justice stressed for resolving the issue with dialogues as it was the only possible solution of the issue during the meeting.

The IBA honoured the CJ and resumed the proceedings at district courts on Wednesday which provided a sigh of relief to litigants who were suffering for the last 40 days due to delays in over 50,000 cases which were pending before the courts of seventy judges in the Capital.

It is worth mentioning here that lawyers were on strike against the demolition of alleged illegal lawyers’ chambers in the F-8 courts by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) as well as against the rotation policy of the district judiciary.
