RAWALPINDI: Former finance minister Miftah Ismail on Wednesday appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) probe team in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) scandal.
According to sources, the ex-minister has recorded his statement against 30 questions prepared by the NAB team.
On September 10, 2018, the Supreme Court had directed NAB to complete the inquiry against former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and others for alleged corruption in the LNG contract with Qatar.
In June 2018, the NAB had approved inquiry against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former petroleum minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in granting contract of LNG terminal for 15 years to their ‘favourite’ company.
It was also observed that this contract had allegedly caused a loss of billions of rupees to the national exchequer.
