KABUL: The visa section of the Pakistani consulate in Afghanistan’s Mazar-e-Sharif city reopened on Tuesday.
Two days ago, the section was closed down owing to security threats. An Afghan woman tried to sneak a hand grenade into the building, a security check had revealed.
The woman was arrested and investigations concerning the incident were currently underway.
Pakistan had requested the country to ensure the safety of the consulate and share results of the security inquiry with the Pakistani authorities.
Authorities in Afghanistan reopened the visa section after reevaluating the security arrangements in order to prevent such incidents from occurring again.
