Punjab IGP lauds Sialkot police for recovering ransom money, arresting kidnappers

LAHORE: Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Amjad Javed Saleemi lauded Sialkot Police on Tuesday for recovering ransom money earlier given to kidnappers and arresting three suspects.

On January 27, the son of a member of Sialkot Chamber was kidnapped from the vicinity of Agoki police station, while the kidnappers had demanded Rs10 lac as ransom money. The man was released after the said amount was paid to the kidnappers.

However, law enforcement agencies were able to trace the three accused, Asadullah, Iqbal and Hamza and recover the cash.

Saleemi has announced a reward of Rs2lacs for the investigation team.
