ISLAMABAD: Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov has appreciated Pakistan’s role and efforts for Afghan peace and reconciliation.
It has been reported that the visiting diplomat, who is in the country on Russia’s wish to discuss the Afghan peace process, met Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Earlier, the Russian envoy met Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua. The two parties discussed matters pertaining to regional security and the efforts made by both Russia and Pakistan to reach a political solution in Afghanistan.
Kabulov arrived in Pakistan on a two-day visit on Tuesday.
Last month, Russian Ambassador in Pakistan Alexey Dedov had said that Pakistan’s commitment and efforts for regional peace and stability are highlighted by the country’s decision to open the Kartarpur Corridor.
The Kartarpur Corridor, the groundbreaking ceremony of which was held late last month, will provide visa-free access to Sikh pilgrims from India.
