LAHORE: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said on Tuesday that injustice will not be done with anyone and contravention of law and order will not happen either, adding that there is no concept of relief in the accountability process.
“Each and every clause of the JIT report will be implemented in letter and spirit. [The] government is not doing politically motivated victimisation with anyone,” the governor said while addressing while meeting Federal Parliamentary Secretary Farrukh Habib and Provincial Assembly Members Mian Waris Aziz, Khayal Ahmad Kastro and others.
He was of the view that the initial report of the JIT probing Sahiwal killings has been translated into action and further action will be taken on final report.
The governor also said that they cannot provide relief to anyone in process of accountability.
While addressing the 9th convocation of the Government College University Faisalabad, Governor Sarwar said all provincial universities in Punjab will be depoliticised and merit will be the only governing principle.
He said, “All appointments including those of of vice chancellors will be done as per spirit of merit. As per policy and strong recommendation of Prime Minister Imran Khan, standard of education will be uplifted and resources will be provided to educational institutions to strengthen education.”
While advising newly-graduated students, he said there is a need to transform the minds of individuals to spur growth in the country. He said only confident, self-motivated, resilient and passionate individuals can take steps towards individual, national and global progress.
Governor Sarwar stressed upon the students to develop new skills in the 21st century and read international literature to equip themselves to cope up with the modern challenges.
He said that machine learning, quantum physics, artificial intelligence and big data are rising and demanding skills and our students and educational institutions should focus on them.
