RAWALPINDI: The residents of city and cantonment areas are facing difficulties due to low gas pressure which is causing inconveniences for them on a daily basis now.

There were reports of low gas pressure last year too in parts of Rawalpindi city particularly, the populated areas including Dhari Hassanabad, Dhoke Khabba, Qasimabad, Muslim Town, Sadiqabad, Rehmanabad, New Katrian, Satellite Town, Khurram Colony, Chungi Number eight, Tench Bhatta, Peoples Colony, Dhoke Syedian and many other areas. Nowadays, the low gas pressure is forcing the citizens to bring cooked food from ‘Tandoors’, ‘Bakeries’ and hotels.

The citizens complained that the gas supply situation is worsening and no relief could be provided to them despite repeated complaints to authorities concerned.

Last year too, consistent low gas pressures and frequent gas outages had posed serious problems for the people, who were unable to cook food and properly heat their homes during cold weather condition.

The citizens urged the authorities to take solid steps and find an immediate solution to the problem.

Frequent and continuous problems with issuing wrong bills containing incredibly high charges, ranging in thousands of rupees for a household meter, have also been observed. For many, these issues have gone unresolved and the customers have been observed to have had to pay for utilities they never used while nobody seems to know where the extra money goes.
