QUETTA: The four-year term of local bodies across Balochistan concluded on Monday after which the provincial authorities are likely to make the appointment of administrators.
A notification that was released in this regard stated that all mayors, deputy mayors, chairmen and vice chairmen of municipal corporation and committees will be considered as retired from January 28.
Local Government & Rural Development Secretary Qambar Dashti said that “the administrators will be appointed after the conclusion of local bodies tenure while the appointees will belong to district administration and municipalities department. However, the final decision regarding the new appointments will be made within the next two to three days by Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal”.
“Detailed notification for the committees had been released earlier that started to implement the new delimitation in accordance with 2017 census organised before the commencement of Local Government elections,” he said.
