LAHORE: Accountability Court (AC) Lahore has extended the judicial remand of former Punjab chief minister (CM) and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) Shahbaz Sharif for 15 days in Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing Society case.
Ashiana case came up for hearing before the Accountability Court Lahore on Thursday. Jail authorities filed a report on not producing Shehbaz in the court. It was said in the report that NA speaker has issued production orders of Shehbaz, therefore, he could not be produced in the court due to his participation in NA session.
NAB prosecutor said that clear copies of reference have been provided to the accused persons in Ashiana case. “Some documents are in Chinese language and these will be translated from Chinese to Urdu language and their copies will be provided to the accused on next hearing,” NAB prosecutor added.
On the other side Fawad Hassan Fawad, the personal secretary of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, former Lahore Development Authority (LDA) director general (DG) Ahad Cheema and some other accused were also presented in the court.
The court, while extending the judicial remand of Shehbaz, Fawad and Ahad for 15 days, adjourned the hearing of the case till February 7.
