ISLAMABAD: National Assembly (NA) Speaker Asad Qaisar on Friday adjourned the session for an indefinite period due to lack of quorum as opposition members continued their protest against the inflammatory speech of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Murad Saeed on Thursday.
As the session began, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi asked the speaker to decide “whether to run the session or not”.
On Thursday, State Minister for Communications Murad Saeed launched a scathing attack on opposition leaders of different political parties. He objected those calling Prime Minister Imran Khan as ‘selected PM’, saying that ‘selected prime minister’ was the person who got the top post after the creation of Islami Jamhoori Ittehad in the 90s era. Slamming the Pakistan People’s Party leadership, Saeed alleged that the PPP leadership ruined Sindh province through corrupt practices.
The NA session was adjourned after the opposition members walked out of the session.
