A video making rounds on social media shows Shamim Akhtar, the mother of imprisoned former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, in an emotional condition as she prayed for her son.
On Thursday, she came to meet her son who is serving a seven-year sentence in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail in an illegal assets case .

The video clip, which was recorded outside the jail where she was sitting inside the car has received mixed reactions from the social media users.
Mumtaz Hayat Maneka, a scion of Maneka family from Pakpattan, retweeted the picture and wrote that “this is heartbreaking”.
