ISLAMABAD – Recalling his numerous interviews where he had promised to resign in case of atrocities taking place under his watch, principled Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday stepped down as the admin of the Government of Pakistan’s official WhatsApp group.
The premier first broke the news to the members of the group, which features leading officials from the government, and shared his other WhatsApp number which is to be added to the group and given admin rights.
“He didn’t really have to do that because he already has three other numbers in the group, which have admin rights,” revealed a high-level official and an inactive member of the ‘Govt of Pakistan’ group. “But the PM is a man who keeps his word and since he said at the time of the creation of the group that he will have four numbers with admin rights, so he is following through with his vow.”
The PM’s decision to step down comes after he had told the nation that he would lead from the front upon his return from Qatar.
And after announcing his resignation as the WhatsApp group admin the first thing following his return, heads are expected to roll in other official WhatsApp groups as well.
