Federal Ministers for Information and Human Rights Fawad Chaudhry and Shireen Mazari congratulated stabbing victim Khadija Siddiqi for winning her case in the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
The two ministers separately congratulated Siddiqi, who had been pursing justice for the past few years after she had been stabbed 23 times in broad day-light on Lahore’s Davis road by her former class fellow Shah Hussain.
Taking to twitter, the information minister expressed his joy after the Supreme Court overturned an order of the Lahore High Court which had earlier acquitted Shah Hussain from the seven year jail term that a sessions court had given to him in its verdict.
Fawad Chaudhry termed Khadija’s fight a moment of pride for Pakistani women and a symbol of resilience. He also praised her lawyer, Hassan Niazi, who has been pursuing the case besides Khadija from the very beginning.
