KARACHI: A First Investigation Report (FIR) has been filed against two policemen, Zahid and Majeed, over the alleged encounter where a couple was wounded in a crossfire between policemen and dacoits in Karachi’s Korangi area on January 20.
Police officials said that the case was registered under 353/324/392/337 acts including dacoity, encounter and attempted murder acts while the case number was 33/19.
An inquiry that was conducted into the incident revealed that the couple was wounded by firing lodged by policemen. The inquiry report stated that the alleged dacoits attempted to snatch an SMG from a policeman and later the second on-duty policeman opened fire that wounded 32-year-old Irfan and his wife.
Both of the wounded persons were shifted to JPMC for medical treatment.
