SRINAGAR: Indian troops martyred three more Kashmiri youth on Tuesday besides injuring several others, including four journalists, in Shopian district of Indian Occupied Kashmir.

As per details, the Indian Army killed the youth during a so-called cordon and search operation in Heff Shirmal area of the district.

Meanwhile, Kashmiri people took to the streets and staged aggressive protests against Indian atrocities, despite harsh weather of the occupied valley.

In response to rightful demonstrations of people, Indian troops and police personnel fired pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters, injuring several of them.

At least four photojournalists, Waseem Andrabi, Nisarul Haq, Junaid Gulzar and Mir Burhan, who were performing their professional duties during the demonstrations, also suffered pellet injuries, as reported by Kashmir Media Service. The Indian administration has suspended internet and mobile phone service in the area.

A few days earlier, United Nations (UN) Secretary General Antonio Guterres had expressed hope that Pakistan and India would be able to engage in a meaningful dialogue to resolve their disputes. Responding to a question from a Pakistani journalist at a New York press conference, the UN chief had said that his organisation had done its job in that regard, referring to the June 14 UN report that called for the establishment of a ‘commission of inquiry’ to investigate the grave human rights violations in IOK.

Guterres added that he has been offering his good offices in relation to the dialogue between the two countries.
