LASBELA: Three more passengers, who were burned in a bus-truck collision near Lasbela cross on Monday evening, succumbed to injuries on Tuesday.

Earlier, a bus, which was going from Karachi to Panjgur district in Balochistan, burst into flames after crashing into a truck coming from the opposite side. As many as 24 passengers, including women and children, burned alive on the spot.

Nearly half a dozen were also injured in the incident who were shifted to Karachi’s Civil Hospital while the deceased were transported to the Edhi’s morgue at Sohrab Goth.

“Following the DNA tests, bodies will be handed over to their relatives,” the paramedical staff said.

Reportedly, the truck was carrying smuggled oil which caused a huge fire after the collision. It was also reported that the bus had only one door which made it difficult for the passengers to come out.

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the incident.

It is pertinent to note that every year a large number of passengers fall prey to fatal traffic accidents in Pakistan.
