KARACHI: Karachi which experienced heavy rain on late Sunday night has been transformed into a gigantic water pool, displaying the unmistakable incompetence of the city government.
According to the details, the absence of proper outlets for the discharge of water created huge troubles for citizens who embarked for their daily grinds on Monday morning.
Major areas which received heavy rainfall included Defence, Clifton, Saddar, Malir Cantt, Defence, Clifton, Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, as well as Karachi airport and areas near Shahrah-e-Faisal and I.I. Chundrigar Road.
The weather of the city became chilly and plunged large swathes of the metropolis into darkness as mandatory power outrages across the city also occurred.
Power outages hit Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Model Colony, Saddar, North Karachi, Orangi Town, Defence, Garden, and other areas.
Several bikers were also reported to have slipped due to slippery roads and were taken to nearby hospitals to receive medical care.
On the other hand, the weather became colder in certain regions of interior Sindh like Kherpur and Sukkur whereas, rains are expected to continue on from Jan 20 to Jan 21.
