LARKANA: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Sindh chapter President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has announced that his party will launch a movement across the province against what he called a conspiracy to roll back 18th amendment and cut in the provinces’ share in National Finance Commission (NFC) award, adding in the first week of February protests will be held in all district headquarters.

He said that he will invite all opposition members next month to visit Sindh to discuss issues of the 18th amendment, NFC award and provincial autonomy and chalk out future line of action.

Addressing a press conference at local press club here on Sunday, Khuhro said that a review petition is being filed in the Supreme Court against the decision of handing over National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) and three other hospitals. He said that the annual grant of NICVD was enhanced from Rs 80 crore to four billion rupees by Sindh Government adding people from all provinces were getting free treatment in NICVD.

Khuhro said PPP has reservations over military courts adding it will not be able to support them.

Khuhro said that accountability should be made across the board as we are not against it but it should start from the Center adding we are waiting when Pervaiz Khattak, Aleema Khan and Faisal Vawda are arrested.
