–Khursheed Shah demands an apology from PM Khan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday vehemently condemned the killing of innocent citizens at the hands of Punjab Police in Sahiwal.

In a statement, the PPP chairman said that the killing of the citizens is a vivid proof that the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has turned Punjab into a ‘police state’.

“This incident has sent a message to the people of the country that they should not go out with their children,” he said, “The killing of parents in front of their children have exposed all tall claims of ‘good governance’ of the ruling PTI.”

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the government had shamefully disappeared after the killing of parents in Sahiwal. He said that the PTI government and Prime Minister Imran Khan had claimed to transform Pakistan into a welfare state of like that of Medina but they do not know that in Medina, the head of state would be responsible for its people.

He said that the government’s announcement of inquiry is nothing but sheer face-covering because nobody trusts the government. Those who shuffled ranks and positions in police just to please friends can never ensure justice, he added.

Bilawal further said that the entire government is dependent on Twitter handles and they are only experts in maligning tactics. The fact is that the ‘law of the jungle’ has been imposed ion Pakistan under PTI’s slogan of ‘New Pakistan’.

SHAH DEMANDS IMRAN’S APOLOGY:

Meanwhile, PPP senior leader Syed Khursheed Shah demanded of Prime Minister Imran Khan to apologise to the nation over the Sahiwal firing incident.

Talking to the media in Sukkur, the PPP leader expressed disappointment over comments of a few legislators, saying that he felt sorrow over the statements of some federal and provincial minister. He demanded the prime minister to summon resignations of the ministers calling the slain persons as terrorists in the Sahiwal incident.

Shah said that those responsible should be brought to justice for countering such incidents in future. “The Sahiwal incident shows the government’s lethargy to provide justice. To dub those killed in the incident as terrorists are purely erroneous,” he said.

He further said the country’s judicial system was strong as big cases were being handled by courts. He hoped and said that Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Asif Saeed Khosa would improve the judicial system further. Responding a question, Shah said, “PTI government will not complete its five-year term.”
