SUKKUR: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aeroplane reportedly had a near miss with an accident as it dodged a drone right after taking off.

According to reports, the PK-536 aircraft was scheduled to fly from Karachi to Sukkur. After takeoff, it was flying at 4,300ft when a drone flew 50-100ft above it.

The aeroplane was flying above Afghan Basti, also known as Kochi Camp on the Karachi-Hyderabad (or M9) motorway.

The captain informed the control tower of the drone flying nearby, and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials relayed the incident to the police.
