Tayyab Usmani beats Filipino Alfredo Melendre in Aspera FC Asia

Pakistan Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Tayyab Usmani defeated his Filipino opponent Alfredo Melendres and won the fight via submission armbar in the first round of Aspera Fighting Championship Asia: Two at Sagul Malingap Food Park, Manila in the Philippines.

Aspera FC Asia is a branch of Aspera FC Brazil, operating under Aspera FC in Asia. It is a platform for upcoming athletes and fighters in Southeast Asia.

Tayyab Usmani is considered as a rising fighter in Pakistan’s MMA scene who had fought in Pakistan’s top Promotion Fighting Alliance as well. He has won several medals while competing in kickboxing, Muay Thai and Ju Jitsu (BJJ) internationally.

On this achievement, he thanked all the people who have supported him throughout this fight. “I would like to say thanks to Aspera FC, sir Ferdie Abdilla for giving me the opportunity to show my skills, my promoter Rizwan Ali and everyone who supported me. I’m really grateful for what I’ve achieved so far but it is not going to stop here because the sky is the limit,” he said.

“Thanks to my coach Shariq khan who helped me in preparing for this fight. Thanks to my homie Al-Haaj Tanveer who was always there for me whenever I needed him and Mariyah, who is one of my biggest supporters, Thank you,” he wrote on his Facebook account.
