CAPE TOWN: South African cricket legend Herschelle Gibbs has hailed five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo as ‘the best’ after winning his first trophy with Juventus on Wednesday.
Ronaldo scored the only goal of the game with a clinical header in a 1-0 win over AC Milan in the Italian Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.
The 33-year-old – signed by the Italian giants last year from Real Madrid – headed in a 61st-minute winner.
The Portugal international has now won an astonishing 26 career trophies and has lifted a Super Cup with four different teams in four different countries, namely Portugal, England, Spain and Italy.
