Punjab govt takes notice of 12-year-old girl disappearing in Kasur

The Punjab Government has taken notice of the disappearance of a 12-year-old girl in Kasur and asked the Punjab police to immediately take action and find the girl.

According to Dr Shehbaz Gill, the Chief Spokesperson to Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar, the police had been ordered to find the girl and that they would update keep the public updated.

Humera Soha, a resident of the Qadirabad area in Kasur had gone to study at a local madrrasah in the late afternoon and has not been seen since. Her family have said that she has been kidnapped and have appealed for an investigation into her disappearance.

Lawyer and activist Hassan Niazi had commented on the issue on twitter which had prompted the Punjab government to notice the incident and take action.

“Another girl disappears in kasur. Someone in Punjab police should wake up. We don’t want any more rapes or kills” he wrote.

 

In response, Dr Gill had also tweeted saying that “We have informed the Chief Minister and have given immediate instructions to the police to take quick action. I will update you soon” he said.
