KARACHI: Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Information, Law & Anti-Corruption Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that the Sindh government was not a coalition government which can be destablised by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), adding that PTI should focus on the federal and Punjab governments.
Wahab added that PTI’s coalition partners in Punjab and on the federal level are unhappy with the party’s performance.
While talking to media outside Sindh Assembly, he said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would continue to play its role in opposition within the bounds of the constitution and law.
He advised the federal government to provide a package of Rs50 billion for development in Karachi, adding that the provincial government will extend full cooperation on its implementation.
He further said that development package must be for the entire province.
He said that despite the conspiracies, Sindh government was focusing on the issues of people and taking concrete measures to provide relief.
“Instead of supporting unconstitutional moves, we criticise the government’s wrong policies,” the provincial adviser added.
In response to a question, he answered that those who were treating the Sindh government as a gas balloon should ensure supply of gas to Sindh as per its share.
Briefing media about a meeting regarding the law and order situation in the province, he said that security arrangements were reviewed in connection with Pakistan Super League (PSL) and other events in the city.
Wahab said that events like the PSL and West Indies cricket series were celebrated in Karachi with great enthusiasm.
He said that the current government will once again ensure fool-proof arrangements for the latest installment of the PSL.
The provincial adviser informed that the Sindh chief minister has directed police to launch a crack down against drug peddlers and that the CM has decided to convene law and order meeting every week.
Wahab further said that the current government’s agenda was to provide relief to the public at large.
It is the prime responsibility of the government to take practical measures instead of rhetoric on which PTI is relying on, he said.
