KARACHI: Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal said on Wednesday that his party has no intention to topple the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government “as long as their demands were accepted”.

While addressing reporters here, the PTI ally reiterated that BNP-M would be happy to cooperate with the federal government if their demands were addressed as per the promises.

In a reference to Tuesday’s meeting between opposition parties in the capital, Mengal said that an alliance between Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif will stabilise the country’s political climate.

He added that the party had discussed a six-point agenda with the PTI government regarding the presidential election and a nine-point agenda regarding provincial elections.

He, however, said BNP-M still had reservations with the government on the matter.

In October, while speaking on his alliance with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Mengal had said that his party would continue to work with the PTI if its demands were fulfilled.
