ISLAMABAD – Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi on Sunday denied that the man arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) from the capital with a large quantity of cocaine resembled his dealer.

The arrested man, who supplies cocaine to parties in the capital, had been photographed with the Interior Minister, prompting rumours that he was a close friend of Afridi.

“That man looks nothing like my dealer,” the Interior Minister clarified. “I have taken a close look at the man’s images, there is absolutely no resemblance.”

On his Facebook account Afridi said that only “criminal-minded people” will claim there is resemblance, haters will say he’s lying and Shaitaan will try to stop you from sharing his post.

Afridi also said that those pointing their fingers at him don’t seem to know how relationships works between people.

“Some people are giving the impression that he is my friend. There is a difference between professional contacts and friends,” he said.

The Interior Minister also reminded that he is currently spearheading a wide spread awareness campaign against drugs on roads, on buses and in mosques. Afridi also said Prime Minister Imran Khan fully supports movement.

“Our selfless Prime Minister is actually leading this campaign against drugs,” he said.
