KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday expressed annoyance at the Sindh and federal governments for not submitting their replies on a plea against two citizens’ names in the Fourth Schedule and gave a final deadline for the submission of their respective replies.
The court was hearing the petition filed by Zain Ansari and Razaullah Khan against the insertion of their names in the Fourth Schedule.
Ali Wahid, counsel of the petitioners told the court that the government had included both of his clients’ name in the Fourth Schedule after linking them with a banned organisation, Al Qaida.
He further told the court that both his clients were detained by state personnel on false allegations of their involvement in terrorist activities while the case registered against them by the police was also proved false.
He said that when the names of the two accused were included in the Fourth Schedule after they were acquitted from the case.
The hearing was adjourned till February 7 by giving the respondents the last warning for their replies.
