Sharing his poetry, fans remember Mohsin Naqvi on his death anniversary

Subcontinent fans remembered famous Urdu poet Mohsin Naqvi on his 23rd death anniversary on Tuesday.

Naqvi, who was born on May 5, 1947, in Dera Ghazi Khan, was shot dead in an incident of targeted killing in Lahore on January 15, 1996. Naqvi was famous for his Ghazals. He is considered one of the best modern Urdu poets in Pakistan and India.

Fans on social media shared his famous couplets and paid tribute to the poet.

Columnist Mohammad Taqi paid tribute to the poet by tweeting: “جلوسِ اہل وفا کس کے در پہ پہنچا ہے نشان‌ طوق وفا زینت گلو کر کے یہ کس نے ہم سے لہو کا خراج پھر مانگا ابھی تو سوئے تھے مقتل کو سرخ رُو کر کے.”

Famous Indian historian and Urdu literature lover, Rana Safvi shared Naqvi’s couplet: “Today pays tribute to on his death anniversary Jab bhi hansne ke zamaane aaye Zakhm phir yaad puraane aaye Baar-ha unko manaaya to hamein RooTh jaane ke bahaane aaye.”

A fan paid tribute by writing: “عمر آتنی تو عطا کر میرے فن کو خالق میرا دشمن میرے مرنے کی خبر کو ترسے محسن نقوی شہید یوم شہادت 15 جنوری 1996 #MohsinNaqvi.”

Another wrote: “Ai tez hawa koi khabar us ke junu’n ki Tanha safar-e-shouq pe nikla tha jo ik shaks -Mohsin Naqvi.”

Sharing Naqvi’s beautiful couplet, one wrote: “Nah Jao Uss Ki Gum Sum Saadgi Par…” Samandar Hai To Woh Gehra Bhi Hoga..

Another fan wrote: ” تم کہاں جائوگے سوچو محسن ~ لوگ تھک ہار کے گھر جاتے ہیں.”


Another wrote: “ss Ke Honton Ke Tabassum Mein Bhi Thi Khushboo Gham Ki,,,* Hum Ne MOHSIN Ko Buht Dair Mein Samjha Yarro…!!.”

One of his Indian fans wrote: “Teri sada se tujhi ko taraashna hoga,  Hawa ki chaap se shaklein ubhaarni hongi.. Ye shaairi ye kitaabein ye aayatein dil ki,   Nishaniyan ye sabhi tujh pe waarni hongi.!!.”
