FAISALABAD: Two robbers were killed in an exchange of fire with police in Faisalabad on Monday.
Two robbers were reportedly engaged in snatching a car at Samundari Road near Jehangir Morr when police approached them at the crime scene. In an exchange of fire, both robbers were killed on the spot. Their bodies were shifted to the hospital for a postmortem report.
Weapons, looted cash and other valuables were recovered from the possession of the killed robbers.
Separately, a dacoit was killed while his accomplice sustained serious injuries after their car collided with a check post barrier in Sheikhupura.
According to police, the dacoits were en route to Faisalabad after committing a robbery.
Officials said the incident occurred due to overspeeding as the accused were trying to flee from the scene, adding that the car went out of control and hit the barrier.
The casualties were shifted to a nearby hospital and police have started probing the matter.
